Bhubaneswar: None of the three Union ministers from Odisha attended the two-day BJP State Executive Committee meeting that concluded on Sunday. While Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was on a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu. Railways and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is in Davos to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum 2023. Party sources said the party meeting is underway at AIIMS.
Former chief minister Giridhar Gamang and his son Shishir Gamang are members of the party’s state executive committee. The father and son had recently met Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad. Keeping distance from BJP, he is seriously considering joining the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
Bargarh MP Suresh Puri also did not attend the meeting due to some urgent engagements. Two resolutions were passed in the meeting chaired by state BJP president Sameer Mohanty. Apart from the political resolution, the executive committee passed a separate resolution thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
