5G Launch: The wait is over, PM Narendra Modi launched 5G service



New Delhi, 01 October:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 5G network service at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. After a long wait, 5G services finally started in the country on Saturday (October 01). Earlier, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Mobile Congress at Pragati Maidan. This is the 6th edition of India Mobile Congress. India Mobile Congress will run from October 01 to October 4. Along with PM Modi, Union Minister of Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnav was also present on this special occasion.

During this, Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio, informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the soon-to-be-launched 5G service. Reliance Industries Limited had earlier said that 5G service will be started in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata by Diwali in the country. At the same time, by December 2023, 5G service will reach every state of the country.

At the same time, Airtel CEO Gopal Vithal had said that in a few weeks, he will start Airtel 5G service in the metros of the country. He had also informed that Airtel customers will not need to get another SIM card, Airtel’s 4G SIM will be converted to 5G service.
