Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan’s son Abdullah Azam Khan Got a big setback from the Supreme Court. The court has dismissed Abdullah’s petition while upholding the Allahabad High Court order of 2019. The High Court had found the birth certificate produced by Abdullah to be fake, due to which his election was annulled. The court had found that the age of the SP leader’s son was less than 25 years while contesting the elections in 2017.
Abdullah Azam Khan had mentioned two birth dates in the election nomination. The matter reached the Allahabad High Court. After the hearing, the High Court had ruled to annul the election of Abdullah Azam. Abdullah challenged this decision of the High Court in the Supreme Court. Now the Supreme Court has also dismissed Abdullah’s petition. A bench of Supreme Court Justice Ajay Rastogi and Justice BV Nagaratna dismissed Abdullah Azam’s petition.
Let us tell you, Kapil Sibal, the lawyer of Abdullah Azam Khan, had said that even in AIIMS, the birth certificate is not verified by the director or the head of the department. The entry on the certificate is not made by the senior doctor or head of the department, resident doctor or any other person. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the Supreme Court had reserved its decision.
