New Delhi, 09 June. The UP government had said on April 26 that loudspeakers can be used at religious places in the state with permission. For this, a condition was laid that the sound should not be heard outside the premises of the religious place. Loudspeakers in temples and mosques were asked to reduce the noise level to the prescribed standard. The government said that if there is a violation of the rules of loudspeaker at any religious place, then it will be removed from there. On the orders of the government, loudspeakers were reduced in 17,000 religious places across the state.

UP: Action has been taken on more than 1.29 lakh loudspeakers. 72,509 loudspeakers have been removed from various religious places while the noise level of 56,558 loudspeakers has been reduced. This action has been taken as part of the statewide campaign against loudspeakers. Apart from this, about 13,145 loudspeakers have been removed from schools. At the same time, 1,583 loudspeakers assigned to the public address system have been uninstalled.
In UP, on 23 April, an order was issued to remove illegal loudspeakers from religious places across the state. The statewide campaign was started after the Allahabad High Court order. Keeping in mind the convenience of those living near religious places, CM Yogi Adityanath welcomed this decision by the religious leaders.

The administration, after interacting with the heads of religious places, ensured that the loudspeaker’s sound remains within the premises of the site. As stated by the state government on April 26, loudspeakers can be used at religious places in the state with permission but the sound should not be heard outside the premises concerned. They were ordered to be removed for violation of rules and loudspeakers were downed at 17,000 religious places across the state.
