Police verification of all will be done and if someone gets an FIR registered in their name, then they cannot join the army. If an FIR is registered against a candidate then they cannot join the Indian Armed Forces. They will be asked to write as part of the enrollment form that they were not part of the arson, their police verification will be done.

On Thursday, the Union Home Ministry announced relaxation in age limit for Agniveers. Age limit increased from 21 years to 23 years. The ministry announced in a tweet that the age relaxation for the first batch of Agniveers would be of five years.

Lt Gen Puri said that in the near future the number of ‘Agniveers’ will go up to 1.25 lakh and will not remain at 46,000 which is the current figure.
