Air India New Alcohol Policy: Recently after DGCA slapped heavy fine on Air India, they have revised their policy of serving liquor inside their flights. Tata Group-owned airline Air India, as per the revised policy released on January 19, states that passengers should not be allowed to consume alcohol unless served by the cabin crew.

Also, cabin crew should be vigilant in identifying guests who may be consuming their own alcohol. As per the policy, alcoholic beverages must be served in a proper and safe manner. This includes refusing to serve further alcohol to guests. It will be prudent to refuse to serve alcohol to passengers again. Air India has also issued a set of ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ for denial of service.

For this the cabin crew has been asked to be polite. Also said to show tact is to politely inform guest passengers that you will not be serving them any more alcohol. An Air India spokesperson has said in its statement that the airline has reviewed its existing in-flight alcohol service policy.

Recently, DGCA imposed a fine of 30 lakhs on Air India for urinating on a woman inside the flight. Also, the license of the pilot-in-command was suspended for three months.
