Hyderabad: Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday urged the central government to allocate at least Rs 13,000 crore in the Union Budget 2023-24. At the same time, KT Rama Rao also asked for the release of outstanding funds by the Center for various urban infrastructure projects in Telangana.
KTR said that many projects were either stalled or running at less than the desired pace, and all issues and requests were also placed before the Centre. KTR said that Telangana has been predominantly an urban state, and with 46.8% of its population living in cities, the number of urban local bodies (ULBs) had increased from 68 to 142.

The city was also declared as the World Green City 2022 by AIPH, and was the only city in India to be crowned among the Tree Cities of the World by the Arbor Day Foundation and United Nations agencies.
