Amaravati, June 6: In Andhra Pradesh, distribution of tractors, combined harvesters and other agricultural machinery to farmers under YSR Yantra Sewa (Agriculture Mechanization) will start from June 7. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate the program. Agricultural machinery will be distributed to the beneficiaries (farmer groups) in a mega fair to be organized in Guntur. Under this scheme, the Chief Minister will send Rs 175.61 crore as subsidy to the accounts of 5,262 farmers. Under the scheme, a total of 3,800 tractors and 320 combine harvesters will be made available for RBK and cluster level custom hiring centres.

YSR Yantra Seva aims to help farmers in reducing agricultural inputs in view of rising cost of farm labor and encourage them to adopt modern methods of farming for less investment and higher yield. Adoption of farm mechanization from sowing to harvesting seeds will reduce the cost and burden on farmers. It has been observed that farmers are unable to buy expensive farm equipment on their own, they can rent the equipment through Custom Hire Centers and RBKs across the state.
For this purpose, 10,750 YSR Yantra Seva Kendras (Custom Hiring Centres) are being set up at RBK level at a cost of Rs 2,106 crore. 1,615 cluster-level YSR Yantra Seva Kendras will be set up in 20 districts where paddy is cultivated more.
