The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a Welfare Fund Trust Board for Archakas (priests) and employees of the Endowment Department.
Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a Welfare Fund Trust Board for Archakas (priests) and employees of the Endowment Department. Deputy Chief Minister (Endowment) K Satyanarayana said a government order to this effect was issued on Tuesday. He said that the Welfare Trust Board would have Principal Secretary (GAD) as its Chairman and the Board would have four officers and three non-officials as its members. The Endowment Commissioner will be the Secretary and Treasurer of the Trust Board.
The four officers who will be members are Principal Secretary Revenue (Endowment), Principal Secretary Finance, TTD Executive Officer and TTD FA and CAO. The non-official members will continue as board members of the trust for three years. The minister said that the Agama Advisory Board has been set up with Dr. Vedantam Satya Srinivasa Iyengar as its chairman.
One representative each in twelve different Agamas – Acharya Dorbala Prabhakar Sharma, P Krishnamacharyulu, Sasibhushan Siddhanti, B Dattatreya Sarma, Mrityunjan Sarma, K Suryanarayana Acharyulu, Kalepalli Subrahmanyam, Veerabhadra Siddhanti, A Raghavendracharya, RRV Gopalacharya, JK Subba Rao and V Nagabhushanam.
He said that an action plan of Rs 249.26 crore Common Good Fund would be implemented for the development of temples in the state. Already works worth Rs 70 crore have been done and tenders have been invited for other works worth Rs 180 crore.
