New Delhi, June 01. In the coming days, there may be another burden on the people suffering from inflation. Actually, there is a possibility that the prices of milk inside the country may increase. On Wednesday, the central government acknowledged that the crisis of straw in the country is deepening and it may have a direct impact on the prices of milk.
According to the report of NDTV, the crisis of cattle fodder in the Gaushalas of Uttar Pradesh has deepened. Due to this, a target has been set to donate about two lakh tonnes of straw from all the district magistrates of the state. Amidst all this, Animal Husbandry Minister in the Central Government, Sanjeev Balyan has said that many farmers have complained about the increase in the price of straw, due to which the farmers have to sell their cattle. However, he has assured the farmers that he will rectify the situation.
Sanjeev Balyan has said that due to paucity of straw, the Haryana government has banned the sale of straw, after which there has been an atmosphere of panic. The central government is also aware of the seriousness of the situation, but they say that there is no other option on this matter other than packing fodder. The crisis of straw in Uttar Pradesh can be gauged from the fact that wheat is being sold in the market for Rs 2000 a quintal and straw is being sold at Rs 1400 to 1600 a quintal.
Let us tell you that due to the straw crisis, the farmers have given an ultimatum to the government to increase the prices of milk. Farmers say that either the prices of milk will have to be increased or else we will have to come under compulsion and sell our cattle.
