Senior advocate Harsh Ajay Singh on Monday filed a petition against the Agneepath scheme in the Supreme Court and appealed to the court to direct the central government to reconsider the scheme. It has been said in the petition that after the announcement of this scheme, there have been demonstrations in many parts of the country. Earlier, two petitions were also filed in the Supreme Court in Advocate ML Sharma and Vishal Tiwari. In the petition filed by ML Sharma, he has alleged that the government has ended the age-old process of recruitment in the army in this country for centuries. Recruitment in the army is a constitutional provision, but it was abolished without the approval of the Parliament.

Last week, Advocate Vishal Tiwari, in his petition, appealed to the Supreme Court to constitute a committee to review the recruitment and assess its impact on national security and the Army. Along with this, an appeal was made to the Supreme Court that the way in which there was a large scale protest against this scheme across the country, damage was done to the property, an SIT should be formed to investigate it. It is worth noting that since the announcement of the Agneepath scheme, there is a protest against it. After which the maximum age for recruitment in Agneepath scheme has been increased from 21 years to 23 years this year.
