Global demand for Indian rice
Apart from red rice, an interesting aspect related to the global demand for other rice varieties grown in India is that despite the supply chain being disrupted during the Corona epidemic, India exported a record quantity of rice following the Kovid protocol. The export of non-basmati rice during April-January 2021 was about Rs 26,058 crore. It is very encouraging for the rice growers that there has been a significant increase in the shipments of non-basmati rice.
