Attacks on Hindu temples are increasing in Australia. Once again, Khalistan supporters have vandalized a Hindu temple located in Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia. This is the third incident within 12 days in which a temple has been targeted in Australia. Earlier, on January 17, the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Melbourne itself and on January 12, the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple at Mill Park in Melbourne, Australia was attacked.
Khalistani slogans written on the wall
This time the target of the Khalistanis was the ISKCON temple in Melbourne. Slogans in support of Khalistan were written on the walls of the temple. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Temple, also known as the Hare Krishna Temple, is a well-known center of the Bhakti Yoga movement in Melbourne. On Monday morning, the temple management noticed that slogans like ‘Khalistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad’, ‘Sant Bhindranwale Shaheed Hai’ were written on the walls of the temple. Angry about these incidents, the Hindu community of Australia has demanded immediate action from the local government.
Hindu community got angry
Devotees of ISKCON temple say that if the government had taken any action on the past incidents, such things would not have been seen again. This process is increasing due to no action by the police. Shivesh Pandey, a devotee of the ISKCON temple, said that in the last two weeks, Victoria Police has failed to take any decisive action against those who are running their hate agenda against the peaceful Hindu community.
Third such incident within 12 days
Earlier last week, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs had strongly condemned these incidents and urged the Australian Government to take immediate steps on this. India had also lodged its objection in Canberra and New Delhi on these incidents against Hindu temples. Earlier such incidents have happened outside the Shree Shiv Vishnu Mandir and Swaminarayan Mandir in Melbourne itself.
