Lucknow, June 20: The BJP got a thumping majority during the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. The government has been formed for the second time in UP under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. Before the general elections 2024, Lok Sabha by-elections are being held in two seats Rampur and Azamgarh in UP. For this, voting is to be held on June 23, about which all the parties have given their strength. All eyes are especially on Azamgarh by-election because Mayawati has made the contest interesting by giving ticket to Guddu Jamali. But on the other hand BJP is trying to make a dent among Dalits as it has worked on this equation in the assembly elections.

BJP trying to capitalize on Dalits in the by-elections

The way in which the BJP tried to break into the Dalit vote bank in the recently concluded assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, there was such a hope within the BJP that in the coming times, the Dalit voters can turn into BJP’s vote bank. BJP office-bearers claim that during the assembly elections, BJP had got a significant number of Dalit votes in Agra and Meerut divisions. Apart from this, some percentage of Dalits was also received in Purvanchal, which was benefited. Now BJP has made Asim Arun and Babyrani Maurya ministers from Dalit quota to take this formula forward. BJP hopes that the way Mayawati’s credibility is declining within Dalits, BJP can benefit from it.

BJP launched army of ministers, MPs and MLAs

After winning the resounding victory in the assembly elections, the BJP has now put its full emphasis in the Azamgarh Lok Sabha by-election. A dozen ministers, MPs and MLAs of UP, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, are campaigning in Azamgarh. BJP has given full force to break into SP’s stronghold from one side. Ministers are continuously holding public meetings in favor of BJP’s candidate Nirhua. BJP has handed over the command of Azamgarh’s election campaign to senior leader Surya Pratap Shahi. Under the leadership of Shahi, BJP leaders are working whole-heartedly to make Nirhua win.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath started a new raga in Azamgarh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also intensified his exercise to ensure the victory of the BJP candidate in the Azamgarh Lok Sabha by-election. Yogi addressed several rallies in Azamgarh on Sunday and appealed to the public to win the BJP candidate. While playing the master card on this occasion, Yogi said that the people of Azamgarh should vote keeping in mind that the old name can be returned here. That is, people have to vote in the direction of making Azamgarh Aryamgarh. Yogi had said in the signs that if the people here voted keeping this in mind, then the government would work to fulfill their expectations.

BJP will get benefit of Jamali’s popularity in Azamgarh

BJP’s road to Azamgarh Lok Sabha by-election may be easy because Gududu Jamali, who has been given ticket by BSP, has a lot of penetration in Muslim society. Even in the time of Kovid, Jamali had done a lot of work among the Muslim community, which could benefit him. BJP’s effort is to split Muslim votes so that their candidate can benefit. According to the BJP strategists, if the Muslim vote bank unites and votes for the SP on the lines of the assembly, then the party may find it difficult, but if the Muslim votes are scattered between the SP and the BSP, then the BJP can get the benefit.
