You can get an idea of the economic condition of Municipal Corporation Bhilai in Durg district of Chhattisgarh from this fact. That the corporation now does not even have funds to pay salaries to its employees. Before Diwali, the salaries of the employees were somehow made using the amount of the accumulated fund. But now the workers have started agitating for the demand of salary. Due to which the functioning of the corporation is also getting affected. But every month the corporation management is facing this problem.
Employees protested, commissioner, mayor reached Raipur
The employees of Municipal Corporation Bhilai stopped work in the corporation office and demonstrated in front of the headquarters for the last two days. The reason for this protest is the delay in payment of salaries. Due to which the corporation employee is upset. The household arrangements are being affected due to non-payment of salaries on time. After this movement, Mayor Neeraj Pal and Corporation Commissioner Rohit Vyas discussed with Raipur city administration.
Salary received 20 days late, contract workers upset
This time salary was paid with a delay of 20 days to more than 960 employees of Municipal Corporation Bhilai. Salary was paid from 1st to 5th of every month. 3 crore 30 lakh was paid to 960 employees of the corporation. Along with this, 5 percent dearness allowance has also been paid to the employees. This payment has been made by the Corporation from the revenue received and other savings. Due to which the corporation employees are happy. But the placement and payment of cleaning staff is still pending.

Will not be able to spend the amount from the accumulated fund
If we talk about the expenditure per month in the corporation, then the salary of about Rs 8 crore is paid to the regular, contract and placement employees. Of these, 960 are regular employees, while there are 1500 employees for cleaning, guard and placement. This time the corporation employees had demanded payment of salary from the consolidated fund. But due to the amount of only 5.5 crores in the accumulated fund, the government did not get permission for the management of the corporation. Because according to the rules of the accumulated fund, its expenditure is allowed by the city administration in case of emergency only if the amount is three times the establishment expenditure of the corporation. However, permission was given to withdraw an amount of Rs 9 crore before Diwali.
