Bhupesh government will bring back the workers who do not want to work in Srinagar

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has directed the district administration Janjgir-Champa to take immediate action after coming to the notice of the hostage of 60-65 workers of Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa and Sakti district in Budgam district of Srinagar. In compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister, Janjgir-Champa Collector Taran Prakash Sinha has taken action to investigate the matter and provide necessary help to the hostage workers. With the joint initiative of District Administration Janjgir-Chapa and District Administration Budgam (Srinagar), an initiative has been started to bring back the workers who do not want to work there.


It is worth mentioning that about 60-65 workers of district Janjgir-Champa and district-Sakti (Chhattisgarh) went to work in brick kiln of Dongargaon Chutru, district-Budgam (Srinagar) in Jammu and Kashmir with the desire of more income and the workers Wages are also not being paid by the kiln owner/zamindar. Taking this matter seriously, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had directed the district administration Janjgir-Champa to take effective action.

In compliance with this, the district administration Janjgir-Champa contacted the administration of Budgam (Srinagar) and made them aware of the situation. A joint team consisting of First Class Magistrate, Assistant Labor Commissioner and Regional Police Administration was formed by the District Administration Budgam. The complaint was investigated by this joint team on 13 September 2022 and the district administration Janjgir-Champa was apprised of the situation. According to the joint team report, the workers were not hostage, they were working independently. There was definitely some dispute regarding money which has been resolved with the intervention of the administration. 25-30 workers want to go back to their state. The process of sending the workers to the home state of Chhattisgarh is being completed by preparing the Panchnama.

District Administration Janjgir-Champa has appealed to all the workers to get a means of livelihood by joining employment business at the local level instead of going to other states in the longing to get more wages. Adequate employment resources are available at the local level.
