Kolkata, September 13. The BJP’s protest against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee turned violent in West Bengal on Tuesday. There have been incidents of violence and arson all over Kolkata. There has been considerable damage to public property. Violent clashes were also witnessed between BJP workers and police during this protest. The Calcutta High Court has sought a report from the state government on this entire incident.

Thousands of BJP workers came on the streets

Big leaders of BJP taken into custody

Several people are reported to have been injured in stone pelting incidents. Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters near the Howrah bridge. Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, Rahul Sinha and MP Locket Chatterjee were also detained from Hastings in Kolkata.
