Booth vandalized in Assam Zilla Parishad elections, protesters burnt ballot papers

New Delhi, 09 June. Two polling stations were vandalized and ballot papers burnt during the East Anglong Autonomous Council elections in Assam. The police also had to fire in the air to control the furious mob.
Protesters on Wednesday ransacked two polling stations during the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council elections in Assam. They did not stop here, they threw the ballot papers on fire. Seeing a controlled protest, the police opened fire in the air.
Along with the KAAC voting, the by-elections for the Kokalbari constituency of Baksa district of Bodoland Territorial Council were also held on Wednesday. Re-polling will now take place on June 10 in both the protesting booths. While the counting of votes will take place on June 12.
