‘Break dance’ is a hip-hop style of dancing. But it’s not just a dance style, it’s a sport now. Not just a sport, it is a sport included in the Olympics. In the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, break dance will be played under the name ‘Breaking’. Or an exciting sport that matches gymnastics. There is a good chance of a medal in this.

The Department of Sports and Youth Welfare is contemplating to promote this dancing sport and start a break dance academy. Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that at present Madhya Pradesh is maintaining a unique identity in the field of sports. All the academies operating in the state are academies of excellence. Smt. Scindia said that break dance has been included in the name of Olympic breaking by the International Olympic Committee. Break dance has been included in the Olympics because this dance is very popular among the youth. Talent is being tested in many reality-shows. Incorporating break dance as a sport will also give opportunities to many talents. Each performance in the Olympics will be based on clearly defined criteria of Creativity, Personality, Technics, Variety, Performance and Creativity.
Sports Minister is considering to build an academy in Bhopal
Minister Scindia said that our target is now an international medal, so a talent search is being organized by the Sports Department to find such break dancing talents. Its purpose is that after evaluating the possibilities of break dancing in Madhya Pradesh, it can also be considered for opening a break dance academy in future. He said that along with the established sports in the state, young talents of the state should show their skills and win medals in new sports, this is our goal. There is continuous expansion of sports infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh and facilities of international level are available to the players. Sports Minister Scindia said that he is always ready to provide all possible help to the players to encourage and push them forward.
