New Delhi, 07 June: In the Kanachak area of Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces once again foiled the conspiracy of Pakistani terrorists. Drones sent from across the border were shot down. Drone activity was observed on the international border around 11.30 pm on late Monday. After this the BSF personnel started firing. As soon as the information was received, a search operation was launched in the entire area.
The BSF jawans heard a humming sound in the night, which raised suspicion of flying the drone. On hearing a humming sound from a height of about 800 meters in Akhnoor area, the alert soldiers fired two rounds. According to news agency ANI, security personnel were immediately deployed and they conducted a search operation in the general area. On seeing the drone activity, the soldiers started firing. The payload attached to the drone was brought down. However, the drone could not be brought down.
Drone threat everywhere along India-Pakistan border
Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh said the payload contained three magnetic IEDs packed inside the children’s tiffin box along with a timer set. The IED has been defused and defused through an explosion. He said that the threat of drones is present everywhere along the India-Pakistan border, but security forces are deployed in this area to thwart any nefarious designs from across the border.
