Chandigarh. The roadways administration’s master plan for conducting the CET (Common Eligibility Test) examination proved to be a failure. On Friday afternoon, a large number of candidates reached Hisar depot for advance booking. But the crowd of candidates became uncontrollable and broke the railing and entered inside. In such a situation, the accident was averted, because the roadways personnel who made advance booking also avoided getting injured.

Meanwhile, advance booking has been closed. Due to this, there was anger among the candidates and there was an argument with the police and personnel. During that time, the police even had to lathi charge to control the crowd of candidates. On getting information about this, ADC Neeraj Kumar also reached the spot. After this a meeting was held with RTA and Roadways GM. The roadways administration also had to change its plan.

After this, the ADC assured the candidates that buses would be made available to all the candidates. No candidate is required to make advance booking. All the candidates reached the bus stand on time. They will get bus facility. After this, the ADC inspected the surrounding area including the bus stand, police line, where the buses are to be parked. The candidates also kept roaming at the bus stand for a long time. Due to this heavy police force was also deployed. Young men and women also stood waiting for the bus. Buses on rural routes were also affected. In such a situation, there was a crowd of candidates in the buses.

The candidate who has the paper in the morning shift, he should leave the bus at 2 o’clock in the night. The bus will start leaving from 2 pm onwards. If a candidate has a paper in the evening shift, then he should leave the bus at 7 in the morning. There are four to five long routes, for which buses will be arranged. Buses will leave from Hansi and Hisar bus stand. Candidates will go from 10 districts from Hisar. They will be kept at the police line and bus stand. Buses will leave at the time of examination. Roadways administration and RTA have arranged 117 roadways buses, 227 society buses and 545 private school buses from Hisar depot. 800 buses are needed according to morning and evening shifts.

About 15 to 20 percent of the candidates from rural areas left on Friday afternoon and evening only. 10 to 15 percent of the candidates left by private vehicles and some would leave at night. Any candidate can travel free of cost by showing the admit card in the bus a day before. This too has been given exemption by roadways. There will be no special facility for this. You will have to travel in normal going buses only.

The roadways administration had made a plan that after booking in advance, all the candidates would be given seat and bus code in the bus, so that there would be no problem later. But seeing the huge number of candidates, the plan had to be changed and advance booking was stopped. Now the first come, first served plan will be implemented. The candidate who reaches on time should leave after getting seat and place in the same bus.

The government’s announcement of free bus facility for the CET exam overshadowed the candidates. There were not enough buses in the roadways fleet that everyone should get bus facility. Now through RTA, private and society buses and private schools have been hired. Due to this, the government has given holiday to government and private educational institutions on November 5 and 6.
