Ambikapur, 30 May. At present, the voice of the movement to save the forests of Hasdev Aranya is echoing everywhere in Chhattisgarh. On Monday, in the presence of police force, once again the felling of trees has started in Hasdeo Aranya for Parsa coal mine located in Ambikapur. The government team cut about 70 trees from the forest, after which a large number of villagers with sticks and sticks in their hands have come out in protest. Here the politics in the matter has also intensified.

In fact, despite protests in the country and the world, the state government has once again started felling of trees in the forests of Hasdeo. The felling of the trees was started by deploying it. By the time this matter reached the villagers, 60- 70 trees had been cut. The villagers protested against the felling of trees, shouting slogans against the government, after which the forest department and the police team had to retreat. Alok Shukla, the convener of the Chhattisgarh Bachao Abhiyan, while tweeting the video of the felling of trees, wrote that this morning again the felling of trees was started for the second phase of Parsa East Kete Basen coal block in Hasdeo Aranya area with heavy police force. The protest by the villagers continues.

However, politics was also seen in this matter. In the midst of protests over the felling of trees, Amit Baghel, the state president of Chhattisgarhia Kranti Sena, also reached the spot and registered his presence in the Hasdev Bachao Andolan. On the issue of cutting the forest of the state, it was said that you are standing with the tribals who are agitating in Chhattisgarh, and the result will be seen in a week. So Rahul Gandhi, are you standing with the tribal native Chhattisgarh in such a way that the forest is being cut with full force. Or are you in collusion? Remember the people of Chhattisgarh will never forgive you.
Congress Govt of Chattisgarh is cutting Hasdev’s forest despite the opposition of the people.
Rahul Gandhi had said that he is with those opposing the cutting of the forest.
How is this together, even after this, the Bhupesh government is cutting the forest?

According to the information received, the police have kept two drone cameras under surveillance in the Ghatbarra forest to keep an eye on the agitators. In fact, Hariharpur, Fatehpur and Salhi Gram Panchayats of Udaipur region are opposing the opening of rural coal mines from 2019. He does not want that the Hasdev Aranya forests should be cut for coal mining at any cost. Under the leadership of Alok Shukla, the convener of Rural Chhattisgarh Bachao Abhiyan, he has written letters to the President, Prime Minister and even the Chief Minister. Last year, the villagers had put their agony in front of the governor on a 300 km walk from Surguja to Raipur, yet no hearing was held.

It may be noted that Parsa East Basen coal mine is already running in Udaipur region. 640 hectares of land has been acquired for this mine. Mining was to be done by the year 2028, but mining was done before that, along with this permission has been given for the second phase of this mines. Since then many people in Ghatbarra village are opposing the mine. The coal in this mine is to be mined by Adani Coal Mining for Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, for which it has been given 12 hundred hectares of land. For coal mining, 841 hectares of forest will have to be cut. Due to which 250 families of four villages will be displaced, while about 4.5 lakh trees will be cut.
