Chhawla Rape Case: Supreme Court overturns death sentence, acquits all three accused



A Delhi court had convicted three for raping and killing a 19-year-old girl in Chhawla area. All three were sentenced to life imprisonment by the court. But now the Supreme Court has acquitted all the three convicts in the case.

The dead body of the girl was found in the field
The girl’s body was found in a mutilated condition in a field. In the investigation, there was talk of injuries due to the attack from the tools of the car to the pottery. Hearing the case, a Delhi court had in February 2014 convicted three persons for raping and killing a 19-year-old girl and sentenced them to death.

The girl was kidnapped while returning from the office
On August 26, 2014, the Delhi High Court confirmed the death sentence, saying they were “hunters” and were roaming the streets with the same intention. Let us tell you that Ravi Kumar, Rahul and Vinod Kumar had kidnapped the girl while returning home from the office. The court, in its judgment, had said that the trio raped and murdered the girl after abducting her. After this, the body was dumped in a field in Rodai village of Rewari district of Haryana.
