BHUBANESWAR, 30th May: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday asked the probationary officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) to bring efficiency in their work and serve the nation proudly to fulfill the ideals and dreams of the country’s founders.

Patnaik made the remarks while meeting a delegation of 181 IAS probationary officers and two probationary officers of the Royal Bhutan Civil Service. The delegation was represented by Radhika Rastogi, Joint Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration. This team of the Academy has reached Odisha on a four-day tour under the Bharat Darshan program organized by the institute.
Welcoming him, Patnaik said, “You have reached a crucial stage in your life. The country has high expectations from young officers.” He said, “We have adopted a model of transformative governance based on the principles of transparency, teamwork, technology and time.”
The Chief Minister said that Odisha has implemented transformative initiatives in rural development, housing, skill development, sports, industrial development, mining, tourism, heritage conservation, road development among many others. He said that once upon a time the state was known for poverty and disasters like cyclones.
Patnaik said, “Today we are known in the world as a role model in the field of disaster management. Our state is producing surplus food and farmers income has doubled in the last decade. The state is in poverty. The Chief Minister apprised the delegation about other schemes and achievements of his government.
