Recently, Kiran Patel, who hails from Gujarat, was arrested by the J&K Police from a five-star hotel in Srinagar. He was enjoying a Z+ security, bulletproof SUV posing as Additional Director (Strategy and Operations) in the PMO. During this, he also held several meetings with the officials of Jammu and Kashmir.

He roamed in Kashmir with security arrangements by lying to everyone for many days, but after cheating the bureaucrats and businessmen, his secret was revealed. Surprisingly, this was his third visit. That is, twice he easily got away without getting caught. At present, Kiran has been sent to judicial custody for 15 days.

Let us tell you that in the last few years, similar cases have come to the fore many times, in which a person pretends to be a fake officer and cheats crores, and somewhere has fun with government facilities. Let us tell you about some such cases.

Fake PMO officer ‘wrapped’ the DM
In January, the CBI registered an FIR against a thug in Agra. The man named Ankit Kumar Singh was claiming himself to be Dinesh Rao, a 1997 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre. He used to introduce himself as PMO secretary looking after Varanasi district. During this, he also approached the District Magistrate of Agra, Prabhu Narayan Singh, seeking support for his constituency. However, its theft was caught when it was told by the PMO that no such officer was present in that area.

These fake officers ‘increased the tension’ of CBI
Similarly, in the month of January 2022, the CBI had registered three cases of cheating by posing as officials of the PMO. Whose investigation is going on. In the first complaint, it has been said that a senior IPS officer posted in Chandigarh was contacted by a person posing as Rohit Yadav, Joint Secretary posted in the PMO. He requested the IPS officer to transfer a police constable. According to the complaint, the case was fake as no such call was made to the PMO and the phone number used also did not belong to the officer.

In the second case of forgery, PK Issar, Assistant Director posted in the PMO, had filed a complaint. In this, a person named Dr. Shiv Kumar from Kerala called people from his mobile calling himself as an officer of the PMO. He used to call himself the personal advisor to the Prime Minister. He had issued a fake order to start an investigation in a case. While in the third FIR, a complainant has said that a person pretending to be a personal assistant in the PMO, took three lakh rupees from him and tricked him into getting a government job in the Reserve Bank. This fake personal assistant had taken Rs 25,000 as advance from the complainant named Ravikant.

Fake PRO of Home Ministry reached behind bars
In October 2022, the police of Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh arrested the fake PRO of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This fake PRO used to stand near the roadways of Azamgarh and collect money in exchange for getting the people to work by putting pressure on the officials over the phone. On getting information about this, the police reached the spot and started questioning him, then he started showing enthusiasm. But, when the police tightened up, the accused told the whole truth.

70 lakh cheated by posing as Home Ministry official
On 7 October 2022, the Faridabad police arrested a fake Home Ministry official. This person named Shubham used to post government job advertisements on Facebook page and when people contacted, he used to send them his fake ID of Ministry of Home Affairs and link of test through fake email of Ministry of Home Affairs. At the same time, he used to call himself a big officer.

At the same time, in order to take people into his confidence, he used to meet outside the Constitution Club of Delhi in an expensive hired vehicle and showed fake documents of the people who had been admitted earlier. In this way, he cheated Mohit, a resident of Faridabad, up to 70 lakhs.

Fake IAS wants room in UP Bhawan!
In September 2022, Delhi Police arrested a person from room number 118 of UP Bhawan. After this it was revealed that this is a fake person who tells himself as an IAS and tells his posting in the Ministry of Home Affairs. The great thing is that this person also wrote a letter to the arrangement officer, UP Sadan posing as IAS Akash Kumar Sinha to book a room for one night in Delhi’s UP Bhawan. The letter pad of that letter was also stamped and signed like an IAS officer.

On 2 February 2023, Gurugram police arrested a fake woman IPS. During investigation she said that she wanted to do a police job but UPSC could not clear her. So she became a fake IPS. In fact, according to the police, cases have been registered against this woman in Noida and Meerut as well and she has already gone to jail.

According to police officials, the accused woman, posing as an IPS officer, had asked for a pilot car to go to the ITC Grand Hotel in Manesar. After this a police pilot car was sent. At the same time, when the police personnel who arrived with the pilot car asked her to show her ID, she started making noises. She started shying away from telling her name and started showing her awe. After this he was arrested.
