Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will soon run premium buses for more intercity operations in Delhi-NCR. Its in-principle approval was given by DTC in its board meeting held on January 9, 2023. These buses will ply on NCR routes and will cover a distance of up to 200 kms.

Will get the best facilities
Transport Minister and DTC Board Chairman Kailash Gehlot said that the Delhi government under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is going to provide the best facilities to passengers traveling long distances in the new premium buses of DTC.

Gehlot said that DTC was planning to introduce high quality premium buses on longer routes for a long time. Electric or CNG premium buses will soon be plying on NCR routes up to 200 kms after approval from the DTC board. For intercity bus operations, DTC will operate Bharat Stage (BS) 6 buses on routes with a distance of more than 200 kms.

The bus will be equipped with modern facilities
All the buses will be equipped with CCTV, GPS, panic button and other modern facilities to provide convenient and safe travel for long distance commuters. All premium buses will be air-conditioned, CNG or electric, complying with BS-VI norms. All the buses to be inducted after January 1, 2024 under the scheme will be electric only.
