Delhi government’s new plan, after Mohalla Clinic, now Mohalla bus scheme may start

As the budget session of the Delhi Assembly began on Friday, according to a report, the government is going to bring a new ‘Mohalla Bus Scheme’ on the lines of Mohalla Clinics.

In the country’s capital, the Kejriwal government can start Mohalla Bus Scheme on the lines of Mohalla Clinic. Delhi government sources said that this bus service can be announced in Delhi’s 2023-24 budget under the Last Mile Connectivity Scheme. Upgrading the transport infrastructure of the country’s capital will also be taken care of.

The budget session of the Delhi Assembly began on Friday. The government is likely to present the state’s economic survey and outcome budget on Monday, while the annual budget will be presented on Tuesday.

According to a TOI report quoting Delhi government sources, the Kejriwal government is going to bring a new ‘Mohalla Bus Scheme’ on the lines of Mohalla Clinics. Just as people are being provided treatment facilities near their homes through mohalla clinics, in the same way, through mohalla bus service, people will get bus service for commuting from residential colonies to nearby areas.

Government will buy more than 2,000 small buses
A dedicated last mile connectivity scheme called Mohalla Bus Service may be announced in the budget. Sources in the transport department said the government would procure over 2,000 minibuses like the Metro feeder bus services. These buses will connect areas of Delhi with metro stations and important transport junctions to improve connectivity.
