The former Indian vice-captain was dropped from the Indian team after the South Africa series and was advised by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to return to the Indian domestic set-up.
Rahane also played in the Ranji Trophy and was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders as their first-choice opening batsman in the IPL. Though Rahane’s season with KKR was forgettable, Rahane said that the focus now was to get back on track and be fully fit.

Rahane says, “So right now my only focus is on getting better. Get fit as soon as possible and get on the field. I am not sure (when) I will be (fully) fit, it is around 6-8 Hoping to be a week, but for now I am taking one day at a time, then taking a week at a time.”
If the Indian fighters play England in the final Test, Rahane will not be there. India is expected to get a tough competition from Ben Stokes’ England.
