Amaravati, September 13: Taking serious objection to the ‘TDP-backed’ Maha padyatra of Amaravati Parikshan Samiti (APS), Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasad Rao questioned when the padyatra was being taken out to protest Visakhapatnam as the working capital, So why should they keep quiet? Addressing a press conference in Srikakulam on Monday, Dharmana Prasad asked the opposition why they wanted the people of Uttarandhra to remain backward and confined to work as migrant workers.

Stating that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has a decentralized administration and development policy. Right for the state, he sought to know why TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu failed to learn a lesson from Hyderabad. “Should we appreciate when the value of land in Amaravati, which is in the hands of some influential persons, increases, while the value of land in the rest of the state remains without any increase?” Revenue Minister asked. Attacking the TDP for trying to project Amaravati as a state problem, he said the yatras undertaken by the opposition and some of its supporters were manipulating the media to project it as a peasant struggle. Huh.

During a marathon discussion on the issue of capital region in the state assembly, he explained in depth what it meant to be a capital and underlined the need for a share in the development of the backward regions of the state. “Centralized and concentrated development in Hyderabad for 65 years has deprived development in other regions and after the bifurcation of the state, the people of Andhra Pradesh have been pushed back in development. If the overall Andhra Pradesh had decentralized development then The present problem does not arise. But today, TDP is ready to continue with the same as Naidu is only concerned about the properties of himself and his supporters in Amaravati,” he lamented. Addressing media persons in Kakinada, former Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kanna Babu dismissed the ‘Amaravathi to Arasvalli Yatra’ as a political journey with vested interests. “The main concern of the TDP chief, who is behind this, is to protect his real estate interests and nothing else. Those duped by the TDP taught Naidu a lesson in 2019, but the opposition failed to learn the lesson. Objecting to Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury’s remarks while supporting the padyatra, Kanna Babu demanded to know where she was when Naidu had promised the state’s interests for a special package in lieu of special category status. “We will not remain silent if the interests of other regions of the state are ignored to benefit a few people. Our government is committed to ensure equitable development of all sectors. He said Jagan did more to Amaravati farmers than Naidu and the real farmers of Amaravati would teach the TDP chief the right lesson.
