The Congress held a meeting on Thursday at the Delhi Congress headquarters regarding EVMs and 30 crore migrant voters. Many senior leaders including Congress MP leader Digvijay Singh participated in this meeting. The Congress MP said that our party is not anti-EVM, but the Election Commission should clear any doubts about it.

On Remote Voting Machine (RVM), Congress MP Digvijay Singh said where did the figure of 30 crore (migrant laborers) come from when the survey was not done? The labor ministry itself had said in response to an RTI that they had details of only 70,000 migrant labourers.

Digvijay Singh Our complaint to CEC and ECI is that the civil society had given a memorandum on 2 May 2022 in which some questions were raised. ECI always says that EVM is a standalone machine. We asked whether it is a standalone machine even after the VVPAT slip is generated.

They ECI says EVM is a standalone machine, we ask whether EVMs are standalone even after VVPAT is introduced and who is feeding software and chips in them. If it is being imported, do foreign companies know about it. Any machine with a chip can be hacked.
