On the orders of the Health Minister and Additional Chief Secretary, Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery (CTVS) Department of RIMS, Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Rakesh Chaudhary has been suspended with immediate effect. Dr Chaudhary is accused of taking money from the patient. Based on this, the said action has been taken. The minister has also ordered to conduct departmental proceedings against Dr. Chaudhary.
Earlier on Friday, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Health Minister Banna Gupta in the Cardiology Department of RIMS. Health Secretary Arun Kumar Singh was also present in this. From the meeting itself, on the orders of the minister, a call was made to the patient who had accused Dr. Chaudhary of taking money. After talking to the patient, the minister issued an order for action. The minister said that the image of RIMS is being tarnished by the allegation of taking money from patients.
The matter of internal discord and allegations and counter-allegations in the CTVS department was also placed before the Health Minister and the Secretary. Head of the department Dr. Vineet Mahajan and Dr. Anshul Kumar were called and asked to present their side. After hearing the allegations and counter allegations of both, the minister gave a verbal warning to Dr. Mahajan. At the same time, the RIMS administration was ordered to issue a written warning to Dr. Anshul Kumar.
