Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala called upon the youth to become a part of India’s ‘success-story’ by channelizing their energy in positive works like Swami Vivekananda so that India becomes a super-power by the year 2047. He was addressing as the chief guest at the Evok-2023 Youth Summit organized at Chandigarh University here on Thursday. He told the students of the university on the topic ‘Challenges and possibilities in front of the youth in the nectar-period of 75 years to 100 years of India’s independence’ that only the youth can change the country’s destiny and attitude. Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala while saluting Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary asked the youth to take inspiration from his life. He said that the youth had an important contribution in the freedom movement as well and even now the youth have to take the nation forward on the path of development with the help of technology keeping in mind the unity and integrity of the country.
Recalling his university student life, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that college-university is the golden period of any person, make good use of this opportunity so that the foundation of yourself and the nation can be strengthened. He also called upon the deans and professors of the university to share their knowledge with the youth so that their energy could be channelised in the right direction.
Chandigarh University students were overwhelmed to have the young Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala in their midst and many enthusiastic students asked the Deputy Chief Minister questions ranging from education to politics. In response to a question, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that becoming a politician is a responsible task. Be it Sarpanch, District Councillor, MLA or MP, the representative elected by the public has a moral obligation to develop the area honestly. He agreed that the representatives elected in developed countries like America are more educated as compared to India but field experience is more in our country. Describing the experience of his tenure of five years as MP and three years as Deputy Chief Minister, he said that he has seen the country moving on the path of progress in these eight years.
Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala praised the work done under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Kovid-19 and said that when the whole world was afraid of this virus, a big company like Apple came to India in the mobile sector. And Maruti company decided to set up another big plant in Haryana. He said that all this has been possible only because of the political will of our country. Describing India as the youngest country in the world, Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala said that good educational institutions are opening in the country, youth are learning new techniques. In such a situation, he has full hope that by the year 2047, our country will become not only a super-power but also the only super-power.

Welcoming the guests, Chandigarh University Chancellor Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu said that in the last eight years new opportunities have increased for the youth in the country, be it job or self-employment, there has been development in the country in every field. He also appreciated the new education policy. Bureaucrat Anjali Birla, film director Madhur Bhandarkar, international player and actor Sangram Singh, senior journalists Sumit Awasthi and Smriti Rastogi also shared their views on the occasion.
