The district court on Wednesday acquitted 6 accused in Madhya Pradesh’s famous Rs 3,000 crore e-tendering scam. In the court, the prosecution could not present any evidence against the accused, so all were acquitted. Please tell that EOW had made 6 people accused in this case. On Wednesday, the district court acquitted all the accused saying they were innocent. Court admitted that demo tender was made for e-tender, but these people made it, the prosecution could not prove it. In such a situation, they cannot be held guilty on the basis of doubt. Government lawyer Ashish Tyagi presented the side in the court on behalf of the EOW. The case was heard in the court of Special Judge Sanjeev Kumar Srivastava.

Let us tell you that in April 2018, an e-tendering scam of Rs 3000 crore came to the fore. The then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had ordered an inquiry by the EOW. Meanwhile, after the assembly elections, the government had changed. After the formation of the Congress government, the investigation into the e-tender scam gained momentum and on 10 April 2019, an FIR was registered against 7 people. The then Chief Minister Kamal Nath had said that the culprits of e-tendering would not be spared.

This is how the scam came to light

The scam came to light when the computer displayed the message while opening three tenders of Jal Nigam by the caretaker of a company. It came to know that tenders are being tampered with. Preliminary investigation found that GVR Engineer and other companies had changed the bid price of Jal Nigam K3 tender by Rs 1769 crore. EOW had filed a case against several companies regarding e-tendering.

But on 23 November 2022, the court acquitted all the 6 accused in the e-tendering scam. The six acquitted include Varun Chaturvedi, director of Brahmos Move IT Solutions, Vinay Chowdhary, Sumit Gowalkar, director of Antares Company, Manohar MN and Bhopal-based businessman Manish Khare, the then OSD of Madhya Pradesh Electronics Development Corporation, Nandkishore. All of them appeared in the district court on Wednesday, UW presented a challan against them. Advocate Prashant Harne, appearing for Brahm, said that after hearing 33 witnesses, the court acquitted all the six accused. While giving the verdict, the court said that the prosecution could not prove the charges against the accused.
