Political parties have been asked by the Election Commission to give detailed information about their election announcement, how much they have fulfilled the promise they had made. Political parties will have to tell whether the promises you made can be fulfilled in terms of revenue at the Center or in the state. Along with this, the Election Commission is preparing to change the guidelines of the Model Code of Conduct. The Election Commission has said in its letter that the voter’s trust should be won only on the basis whether it is possible to fulfill the promises made by the political parties. Because empty promises have far-reaching effects.

The commission said that it is their right to prepare their manifesto for political parties. But it cannot be forgotten that its wrong message does not reach the people, people should know on what basis these promises are being made. The impact of these promises also hinders the conduct of discriminatory and fair elections. All parties and candidates should get equal opportunity. Therefore, it will be necessary to state in the manifesto how the promises that are being made will be fulfilled.

Political parties will have to give information about how much will be spent on these promises, how much will it be expanded, how people will get benefit from these promises. What will be the financial impact of this, where will the money come from for this. Can it really be accomplished? If the political party does not respond to this, then it will be presumed that the party has nothing to say in this regard.
