Elon Musk scared of resignation
A day after hundreds of Twitter employees resigned, Twitter’s new boss Elon Musk sent an SOS to employees, calling all engineers working on Twitter software code. In his email, Elon Musk wrote, ‘Whoever does software work, please report to the 10th floor at 2 pm today.’ In his email, Elon Musk has asked the software engineers to come to San Francisco and personally visit the Twitter office. Elon Musk has allowed only those employees not to come to office, who are either in family emergency. According to the report, Elon Musk has asked the engineers to submit a bullet point report of whatever work they have done during coding in the last 6 months. Along with this, he has also asked the employees to send 10 screenshots of their work.
Purpose of Musk’s email?
In an email sent to his employees, Elon Musk said he wanted to meet face-to-face with engineers to help them “understand the Twitter tech stack”. It is believed that Elon Musk is going to do this to coordinate with the engineers. According to the report, the employees started giving mass resignation when Elon Musk ordered the employees to work for 12 hours in a mail, after which the employees resigned en masse. After the resignation of the employees, Twitter’s office also had to be closed at many places. In his mail, Elon Musk asked the employees to choose an option between working longer hours or losing their jobs, after which the employees resigned. At least 1,200 employees resigned yesterday, according to a New York Times report, leaving Twitter in a tizzy.
Twitter on the verge of bankruptcy
Earlier, Elon Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion, expressed the possibility of bankruptcy of the social media platform. Elon Musk told Twitter employees on a call that he could not rule out bankruptcy. That comes two weeks after the $44 billion buyout, Bloomberg News reported, credit experts say have left Twitter’s finances in a precarious position. According to information, two Twitter executives, Joel Roth and Robin Wheeler, who moderated a Twitter Space chat with Elon Musk this Wednesday, have resigned. Bloomberg News reported that two weeks after the $44 billion Twitter deal, billionaire Elon Musk warned his employees on a conference call that he could not rule out the company’s bankruptcy.
There have been many changes in Twitter
Earlier, Twitter’s Chief Security Officer Lee Kissner tweeted that he had resigned. Chief Privacy Officer Damian Kieran and Chief Compliance Officer Marianne Fogarty have also resigned. At the same time, Elon Musk further told the employees on the conference call that Twitter may have to bear the loss of billions of dollars in the coming financial year. He had earlier claimed that the company was losing more than $4 million a day due to advertisers dropping out after he took over. In view of Twitter’s losses, Elon Musk had asked the company’s employees to work in the office for at least 40 hours a week. He had said that work from home job is not allowed to any employee. Meanwhile, regulator Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said it was watching Twitter’s developments with “deep concern”.
