Football war between political rivalries

There will be a special match of World Cup football on 30th November. Iran has to clash with America on this day. In the midst of political enmity, the US-Iran football match is no less than a war. Even before this, both had clashed in the 1998 World Cup. Then this match was played in difficult conditions amidst international tension. The reason for the enmity between Iran and America was political. Earlier Iran was ruled by Mohammad Shah Raza Pahlavi and he was pro-American. But in 1979 a revolution led by radical leader Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew Reza Shah Pahlavi. At the time of the revolution, Iranian students took 52 people from the US embassy hostage.

These American citizens remained hostage in Iran for one year and three months. America launched an army operation to rescue the hostages but it did not succeed. US President Jimmy Carter lost the election because of this incident. America had to bow down. American hostages were released in exchange for the release of Iranian assets. Due to this insult, America used to consider Iran as its biggest enemy. On the other hand, Iran considered Shah Raza Pahlavi and America responsible for its destruction. When Iran had a war with Iraq (1980-88), America supported Iraq. Because of this, Iran and America considered each other as enemies.
