Chandigarh, June 4.
Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) Principal General Secretary Digvijay Chautala has described the decision of the BJP-JJP alliance to contest the municipal elections together as a decision to increase the pace of progress of the state. He was interacting with the journalists at the JJP State Office in Chandigarh on Friday. At the same time, taking a dig at the Congress, he said that like Rahul Gandhi, Congress MLAs in Haryana are busy leaving the state and spending long holidays.

Digvijay Chautala said that JJP has been in favor of strengthening the alliance from the very beginning and it was already clear from our side to contest the civic polls in alliance. He said that the BJP had decided to fight separately and in such a situation, we had started our preparations for 46 seats. Digvijay Chautala, meanwhile, changed the situation, equations due to Congress contesting elections without symbol and because of this BJP and JJP were going face to face in the elections.
He said that when the participating parties in the government are seen standing face to face in the elections, they are not good messages for the state and the future of the state. Digvijay Chautala said that in view of this, senior leaders of both the parties discussed and decided to field JJP candidates in 14 municipal councils together with BJP and 4 municipal councils.
Apart from this, the candidate of the respective party will be fielded according to the area of the MLAs of BJP-JJP in 28 municipalities. At the same time, in areas with MLAs of other parties, elections will be contested without a symbol. Digvijay Chautala said that Mandi Dabwali is the karmabhoomi of JJP National President Dr. Ajay Singh Chautala, MLA Naina Chautala and Jannayak Chaudhary Devilal has a special attachment to Nuh, so the seat of both these municipal councils came under JJP’s share.
Taking a jibe at the Congress, the JJP General Secretary said that just as Rahul Gandhi spends long holidays in Italy, London, Nepal, similarly Congress MLAs of Haryana are also leaving the state for long holidays. How can Congress contest elections in such a situation? Digvijay Chautala said that when there was so much fighting in the list of spokespersons of the Congress, what would have happened in the Congress in the name of finalizing candidates for 46 seats in the municipal elections.
Digvijay said that in view of this, Rahul Gandhi has sent Congress MLAs to spend their holidays. On the Rajya Sabha elections, Digvijay said that the defeat of Congress is certain in this election and Congress will lose this election by four or five votes. He said that even former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would cast his vote in favor of independent candidate Kartikeya Sharma.
