This planet is 99 percent of the Earth’s diameter
Although scientists are still uncertain about its atmosphere and composition. But investigations have confirmed that it is 99 percent of Earth’s diameter. This planet is located 41 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Octans. It is being said that this planet is a few degrees hotter than the Earth. The planet LHS 475 b was observed by a team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland, using the Webb Space Telescope.

According to the report, this planet also orbits like the Earth. This planet completes one orbit in two days. The planet’s atmosphere is not made of thick methane, which was observed for Saturn’s moon, Titan. The planet was passing in front of the star when its light was noticed by the researchers. NASA’s scientists said in their statement that there is no doubt that a planet exists there. Data from the Webb Telescope has confirmed this.
‘A whole new world is showing up…’
The NASA Webb Telescope wrote on Twitter, “A whole new world! 41 light-years away is the small, rocky planet LHS 475 b. At 99% the diameter of Earth, it is roughly the same size as our Earth. This is the first time researchers have used Webb to confirm.” Mark Klampin, director of the Astrophysics Division at NASA Headquarters, said the discovery of a new planet would open avenues for researchers. “This Earth-sized rocky planet is the first observational result with Webb perfect for studying rocky planet atmospheres,” he said.
Is there a world like Earth outside the solar system?
“The James Webb Space Telescope is getting us closer and closer to a new understanding of Earth-like worlds outside our solar system, and the mission is just getting started,” said Mark Klampin, James Webb research team lead Kevin Stevenson and Jacob Lustig Yeager revealed in a statement that scientists will study the planet closely in the coming months to understand its atmosphere.
“We’re at the forefront of studying small, rocky exoplanets. We’ve barely begun to scrape the surface and try to figure out what their atmospheres might be like,” Yeager said.
Is there an atmosphere on this planet?
Let us tell you that on January 11, information about this planet was given in the 241st meeting of the American Astronomical Society located in Seattle. Kevin Stevenson, head of the James Webb research team, said, “This rocky planet is going to be very useful for our further research in the coming days.” Although our research team has not yet been able to find out whether there is an atmosphere on this planet or not. We will do further research on this.
Can humans live on this planet?
Jacob Lustig Yeager said, “Our astronomers will observe the planet again in the coming summer and try to find out. At present, it has been known from the telescope that this planet is several hundred degrees hotter than the Earth, so it is not suitable for humans to live. If researchers find any kind of clouds on this planet further, then it will be almost like Venus.
