New Delhi, 29 September:
Following the notification of a five-year ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) by the central government, the Kerala government issued an order declaring the PFI and its affiliates or fronts to be an unlawful association. This decision of the Kerala government has come after the decision of the central government. Following the ban on Popular Front of India (PFI), Kerala state general secretary of the organization Abdul Sattar on Wednesday said that the organization has been dissolved.

General Secretary Abdul Sattar said, “All PFI members and public are informed that PFI has been dissolved. MHA has issued notification banning PFI. As law abiding citizens of our great country. In this, the organization accepts the decision.”

He further said that Popular Front of India has requested all the members to stop their activities. Under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, the Union Home Ministry had declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) as an unlawful association with immediate effect for five years.

The government notification states that “PFI and its affiliates operate openly as a socio-economic, educational and political organisation, but they are working towards undermining the concept of democracy for a particular section of the society.” They are pursuing a secret agenda to radicalize and show sheer disrespect to them.
