Eknath Shinde, who once ran an auto in Maharashtra, will now take charge of the entire state. Born on 9 February 1964, Eknath Shinde hails from Pahari Jawali in Satara district. In 1981, he passed 11th from New English High School Thane. After this he made his living by driving an auto rickshaw. While driving an auto rickshaw, he joined the ideology of Shiv Sena in the 80s and started working for the organization as a worker.
Became a councilor in 1997 and MLA for the first time in 2004
At present, Eknath Shinde, the most powerful leader of Thage district adjoining Mumbai, started his political career as a councilor in 1997. After this, in the year 2001, he became the Leader of the Opposition of the Thage Municipal Corporation. Then the next year i.e. in 2002, the councilor was elected for the second time. Shinde could not even complete the term of the councilor and then became MLA for the first time two years later in 2004.
4 times MLA, twice minister and now CM
Shinde reached the assembly by winning 4 consecutive times from the Kopri Pachpakhadi seat of Thane. After 2004, Shinde continued his victory in 2009, 2014 and 2019. After this he became a minister for the first time in 2014. Shinde was the state’s Public Works Minister in the Devendra Fadnavis government. And then he became the Minister of Urban Development in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Now Shinde has become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

According to his affidavit given during the assembly elections in the year 2019, the new CM Eknath Shinde has total assets of more than 11 crore 56 lakhs. In this, movable assets of more than 2.10 crores and immovable assets of more than 9.45 crores were declared. Along with this, Shinde Koki 3 code also has liabilities of 74 lakhs. Along with this, Eknath Shinde has a total of six cars. Of these, three are in the name of Shinde and three in the name of his wife. At the same time, a total of 18 criminal cases are pending against him.
