The leaders of the G-23 camp had a meeting late on Thursday, 29 September. This meeting took place at Anand Sharma’s residence. Many leaders including Manish Tewari, Prithviraj Chavan, Bhupendra Hooda were present in this meeting. After which it was decided to support Kharge. Let us inform, during the nomination for the post of Congress President on Friday, 30 Congress leaders have supported Kharge’s name. However, before Kharge, the names of Ashok Gehlot, Shashi Tharoor, Digvijay Singh to Kamal Nath and Manish Tewari came up for the election of the President. But, now the clash seems to be between Shashi Tharoor vs Mallikarjun Kharge.

G-23 leader not with Shashi Tharoor
The G-23 faction wrote a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi in 2020. In this letter, the G-23 had advocated for a radical change in the organisation. He had also questioned the Congress high command. Manish Tewari, Anand Sharma as well as Tharoor were also in this group. So right there, now Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma have supported the nomination of Mallikarjun Kharge instead of their group members. Tiwari and Sharma reached the All India Congress Committee (AICC) office in Delhi to support Kharge’s nomination.

Tharoor did not seek support from leaders of G-23 faction
According to the report of ThePrint, G-23 faction leader Puthviraj Chavan told that the demand of G-23 faction has been met. Though it took some time to fulfill the demand, but both our demands were fulfilled. So at the same time, the leaders of G-23 faction said that Shashi Tharoor decided to contest for the post of Congress President, but did not seek support from the leaders of G-23 faction. He had spoken to the group earlier, but had to find out whether someone else was contesting the election. After making up his mind, he never spoke to her to seek support.

Kharge Gandhi family loyalists
From the Gandhi family to the leaders of G-23, Tharoor may have been left alone with Kharge. So at the same time, the leaders of G-23 have also supported Kharge, who suddenly joined the race for the post of Congress President. After which the path for Kharge to become the chief of the party will not be very difficult. Let us tell you, this is the first time that there will be no one from the Gandhi family in the election for the post of Congress President. But, he would never want the party chief to be someone over whom he does not have control. After Ashok Gehlot left the field, there was a search for a loyalist again. Kharge stands true in this case.
