Gehlot government is stopping wastage of water through Jal Jeevan Mission

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday sanctioned Rs 37 crore for various projects aimed at increasing irrigation efficiency and preventing wastage of water in canals and dams.The projects include renovation of Kagdi dam in Banswara district at a cost of Rs 10 crore Will be done. The government said in a statement that another Rs 11.73 crore would be used for the lining of the canal from Gajadharpura sewage treatment plant to Kalakh dam in Kalwad tehsil of Jaipur.
The canal will be paved from Mora Sagar Dam in Bamanwas Tehsil of Sawai Madhopur district at an estimated cost of Rs 15.03 crore. The projects will improve irrigation efficiency and reduce wastage of water. Gehlot had announced projects worth Rs 800 crore for the renovation of dams and canals in the 2022-23 budget. Out of this, works worth 611.95 crore have been approved.

In the review meeting, the work done so far under the mission was discussed in detail. In the meeting, Gehlot said that despite the adverse geographical conditions and scattered habitations, the state government is leaving no stone unturned to complete the works of Jal Jeevan Mission.
