Ghaziabad: Monkeypox-like symptoms found in 5-year-old girl, sample sent for investigation

Ghaziabad, June 04: In the midst of the corona epidemic, there are reports of monkeypox infection spreading across the world, due to which people are in panic. So right there, now monkeypox has knocked in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh. As a precaution, samples of a 5-year-old girl were taken here, as she was complaining of itching and rashes on her body. The family members of the girl have been isolated and the complete report has been sent to the government.
According to the news of news agency ANI, a five-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital for treatment of eardrum on Friday at Harsh ENT Clinic in Rajnagar. During this, the girl complained of itching and rashes on the body. The health department has become alert after a five-year-old girl has symptoms like monkeypox. After reaching the clinic along with the team, District Surveillance Officer RK Gupta took the sample of Monkey Pox suspected patient and sent it to NIV Lab in Pune.
With this, the family members of the girl have been isolated and the complete report has been sent to the government. CMO Ghaziabad said that the samples of the girl have been taken as a precaution. The girl child does not have any other health problems and neither she nor any of her close ones have traveled abroad in the last 1 month.

What are the symptoms of monkeypox
Monkeypox is a rare viral infection similar to smallpox. This infection includes fever, headache, swelling, back pain, muscle aches and general lethargy. An extremely itchy rash may develop at the time of fever, which often starts on the face and spreads to other parts of the body. Infection usually lasts 14 to 21 days.
