Gorakhpur, 23 September: CM Yogi Adityanath, who reached Gorakhpur on a two-day tour, will do an aerial tour of the flood-affected areas on Friday morning. Due to the rise in water level in Saryu, Rapti and Rohin in Gorakhpur, there is a danger of flooding in about three dozen villages. The water level of the rivers has increased due to the rain on the hills for the last several days. The villages situated on the banks of river Saryu are the most affected. Flood waters have entered 37 villages of Gola and Khajni tehsils. 41 boats have been pressed into the affected villages. The Ghaghra river reached 1.35 meters above the danger mark at Barhaj on Wednesday. Due to this, flood water entered 37 villages of Khajni and Gola tehsils. Due to this, more than 16 thousand people have been affected. An area of ​​3578 hectares has been submerged. However, the water level of the river in Ayodhya is coming down. Yet the river is flowing 27 cm above the danger mark.

The water level of Rapti river is rising continuously but is 47 cms below the danger mark. The water level of Gorra river is also going up but is 35 cms below the danger mark. Rohin river has crossed the danger mark and is now coming down. On Wednesday, the water level fell two centimeters below the danger mark. On the other hand, the administration is busy in flood-rescue. Apart from NDRF, personnel of other organizations have been put on alert.
