Presently the scheme of Food Grain ATM is going on in Orissa and Haryana. Uttarakhand will be the third state in the country where this system will be implemented. The state’s first grain ATM will be set up at Dharampur area in Dehradun.

Food grain ATM is going to start in Uttarakhand. Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya said that just as they withdraw money from ATM machines for their needs, now eligible people can take food grains. The Food Minister said that food grain ATMs are going to be started in the state under the World Food Scheme. Approval has been received in this regard under the World Food Plan. People eligible for free ration from the government ration shop will no longer have to make rounds of the shops. The Food Minister said that this system will work like an ATM machine. Also, it will have a screen like an ATM machine. Ration card holders will be able to come here and withdraw wheat, rice and pulses like an ATM machine. This scheme is being started as a pilot project. For this, now ATMs will be made instead of ration cards. Eligible people who get ration at government cheap galley shops will now be able to take advantage of this scheme soon. The launch of this scheme will start by the end of June.

This system works like an ATM machine. It will also have a screen like an ATM machine. This machine will be attached to large size storage drums. The ration card holder will come here and put his thumb at a fixed place. Once the thumb is scanned, the complete details of the card holder will appear on the screen. After this, the value of grain in the machine will have to be deposited in cash or online. Then you have to put your bag on a hole made in the machine. The card holder will get the grain fixed for him from the machine. Ration card holders will be able to withdraw rice, pulses, wheat from the ATM machine.
