Gandhinagar, June 1:
Gujarat government is running ‘Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana’ to help the farmers. In a very short time, this scheme has brought relief to more than 53 lakh farmers of the state at a time when they felt that everything would be ruined. Under this scheme, the Gujarat government compensates farmers for the damage caused to crops due to natural calamities or climate change. The beneficiaries of this scheme say that the way they have got the benefit without any hassle is very important. Because, it is completely transparent scheme, in which there is no middleman and no other agency. It is being operated directly at the level of District Collector.

More than 53 lakh farmers of Gujarat got benefit
In Gujarat, more than 53 lakh farmers have got the direct benefit of ‘Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana’. Under this scheme, the government compensates up to 60% of the loss to the farmers. If more than 60% of the crop is damaged, compensation is provided at the rate of Rs 25,000 per hectare. In order to maintain transparency in the assessment of damage, it has been ensured in this scheme that the District Collector himself will prepare a list of the affected farmers. For this, he conducts a survey and then sends the list to the government.
Aid amount reaches directly to the beneficiaries
Regarding this popular farmer welfare scheme of Gujarat i.e. ‘Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana’, Agriculture Officer MD Vaghela says, ‘Because the state government has no agency in this Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana, the assistance amount is given directly to the farmer beneficiaries. Is. In the old scheme, insurance companies were reluctant to provide assistance, leaving farmers deprived of assistance.
No need to go to any office for compensation – Beneficiary
About this scheme, a farmer beneficiary Dinesh Bhai says, ‘After applying with the necessary documents on the online farmer portal in the year 2021, the amount of assistance was deposited directly in the bank and after going to any government office to get the assistance approved. Didn’t need it.’
It is clear that this scheme is no less than a boon for the farmers of Gujarat. The state government has allocated a lot of funds for the welfare of the farmers. This scheme is basically a new crop insurance scheme. In fact, the farmers of the state had to bear the loss of a lot of crops due to the irregularity of rains, especially in the Kharif season. But, through this scheme, the state government has stood behind the farmers. If the crops of the farmers are damaged due to natural calamity, then the government provides them financial assistance. Floods, erratic rains and other factors that cause crop failure are included in the scope of crop damage.
