Haryana Dial 112 will be recruited to meet the shortage of drivers, CM Manohar Lal gave instructions

Chandigarh, June 4. For smooth and effective operation of Haryana Dial-112 program and to meet the shortage of drivers, 3500 specialist drivers will be recruited in Haryana Police. In the meeting of the Standing Finance Committee of Haryana Dial-112 Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), the Chief Minister directed to recruit 1500 drivers as SPOs in the police. Apart from this, instructions were also given to recruit 2000 SPOs (Ex-Servicemen and Paramilitary). Let us tell you that at present, only police personnel are driving the vehicles in the police department. Similarly, all the trains of Dial 112 are also being run by the police personnel.

Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the number of specialist drivers would be increased in Haryana Police and drivers would be deployed for smooth and effective operation of Haryana Dial-112 programme. The government wants the vehicles to be driven by specially trained drivers, so this recruitment will be done. It was informed during the meeting that the average response time of Dial-112 in May was around 15 minutes and the complainant satisfaction in the last month has been 94.88 percent, which is the highest since its launch.

Home Minister Anil Vij said that people’s confidence in the Dial-112 project has increased a lot. He said that in the first 10 months since launch, the call center received 43 lakh calls, out of which 5.5 lakh calls were sent to the police vehicle on the spot. About 17,600 calls are being received on a daily basis at Dial-112 Call Center during May, 2022.

Vij said that the government is dedicated to solve the problems of the people in the shortest possible time. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Rajiv Arora, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, TVSN Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister V Umashankar, Director General of Police Prashant Kumar Agrawal, ADGP AS Chawla, Superintendent of Police, ERSS Rajesh Kalia and Secretary, Finance-cum- Advisor Sofia Dahiya was present.
