Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal said that about 1.41 lakh ‘dual desks’ (benches and desks joined together) are being purchased for primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in all the 22 districts of the state. Presiding over a meeting of senior officials of the education department here on Tuesday, he said, “Around Rs 95 crore will be spent on this. These desks will be delivered to the respective schools in the first phase by January 31, 2023.”
Kanwar Pal Gurjar said that about 1.41 lakh dual desks will be delivered to schools in 26 blocks of all 22 districts of the state. He said that 65,501 desks would be provided for the students of class V. There will be 36,168 desks for class six to eight students and 39,208 desks for class 11 and 12 students.
