The government has intensified the work in the direction of completing the remaining works in Asia’s largest horticulture market being built in Ganaur, Haryana. Taking a step further in this direction, the 18th meeting of the Board of Directors approved the Request for Proposal (RFP) for engagement of Project Management Consultants. After that the work will speed up. The High Power Committee of Haryana International Horticulture Marketing Corporation has accepted this proposal after technical retrenchment. The board has also given permission to open their financial bids. With the preparation of the International Horticulture Market on 537 acres along GT Road, farmers will get a big market for selling fruits and vegetables.

In the meeting of the Board of Directors of International Horticulture Marketing Corporation under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, the steps that have been taken to develop Ganaur Mandi internationally, will now be uploaded on the website of the department. After the completion of this work, a new way of earning farmers will open and they will be financially strong. Additional Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Department Sumita Mishra, Chief Administrator Agriculture and Marketing Board TL Satyaprakash and Director Arjun Singh Saini attended the meeting organized to expedite the construction work of the market. In which the Chief Secretary said that now the rest of the works of Horticulture Market will be further accelerated.

About 8 thousand crore rupees will be spent on the construction of this market. The state government claims that this will be the biggest market in Asia. The government is also going to set up an apple market in Pijore, while a flower market in Gurugram. At present, NABARD is going to give help of about Rs 1600 crore in Ganaur mandi. This market was approved in 2012. While its foundation stone was laid by Rahul Gandhi in 2014. There will also be a spice market here.

It has been told that 17 big sheds will be built in this market. There will be separate sheds for potatoes, onions, tomatoes, dairy products, flowers, fruits and vegetables. Air conditioned flower and fish market will be made. Parking is also being prepared for vehicles coming from different states. The market will also have a logistics hub. In which the facility of refrigerated vehicles will be available. In this, fruits and vegetables will come from 14 states, so there is a plan to connect it with Kisan Rail as well.
