Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal while giving basic mantra for rural development to Sarpanchs, Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad members of Palwal and Faridabad districts, said that do good work and get applause from the public. He also made the representatives present in the program take a pledge to establish a corruption-free, transparent and Antyodaya-based system.

He said that the tradition of Panchayats has been going on since the time of Rigveda and Panch has got the status of God. In such a situation, keeping the trust on the Panchayats from the old times while discharging the new responsibility with full honesty. He wished the people of the state on Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, National Youth Day, Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal said this while addressing a consultation program with Sarpanchs, Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishad members of Faridabad and Palwal districts in Palwal on Thursday. Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishanpal Gurjar and Haryana’s Transport and Higher Education Minister Moolchand Sharma were also present in the programme.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the present government has completed three thousand days of its tenure in Haryana today. Before independence, Mahatma Gandhi had dreamed of Gram-Swaraj that how to strengthen the governance system of rural India so that the message of independence could reach every village. Khap-Panchayats established from time immemorial have done commendable work from time to time. Panchayats have also played a commendable role in making Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao program a mass movement.

Corruption free transparent system benefits reaching the last person

Chief Minister Manohar Lal told the representatives that the state government has made public welfare meaningful by providing corruption-free and transparent governance. Today there has been a change in the governance system thinking of the welfare of our last person. Family identity card, Chirayu Haryana, giving more than one lakh government jobs on merit in eight years, etc. have improved the lives of common people. He said that Haryana should make rural development a reality by following the mantra of Ek-Haryanvi Ek and Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.

Rs 300 crore released for unanimously elected representatives

Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the state government has released Rs 300 crore for unanimously elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions. He said that this time out of 70 thousand representatives, 40 thousand representatives have been unanimously elected. This has promoted social harmony and mutual brotherhood.

He said that the present government has done many things in the direction of making Panchayats autonomous. Along with the educated panchayats, this time the government has given representation to women in 50 percent panchayats, due to which this time a large number of daughters have also been elected as representatives in the panchayats.

Rs 1,100 crore transferred to mother child account

Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that now in order to make Panchayats autonomous, the government has decided that Panchayats, Panchayat Samiti and Zilla Parishads will be able to decide their own budget and use the funds themselves for the development of their areas. The government will not interfere in this work. To encourage this policy, the Haryana government has also transferred Rs 1,100 crore to the mother-child account of Panchayati Raj Institutions. He also asked the panchayat representatives to fix their budget every year.

Those who do good work will get respect

Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that this time also the panchayats doing good work will be honoured. Along with this, those who do wrong things will be punished by moving forward on the policy of zero tolerance against corruption. Along with this, an experiment has also been done to conduct social audit for the development of the village and to make a first class gazetted officer a guardian. Gram Sabha will decide the selection of the audit team. Along with this, the Guardian Officer will be able to organize Gram Sabha and give advice to the general public for information about welfare schemes.

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manohar Lal, the central and state governments have done commendable work in eight years. During this, corruption was hit and the benefits of the schemes of the government have reached the last person. Giving the example of the Corona period, he said that earlier accounts of 45 crore poor families were opened and in times of crisis these families were given financial assistance of Rs.500 each.
